Alison Rae BEM

We are very pleased to share the news that on 16th May 2019 Alison Rae was presented with a British Empire Medal in recognition of 37 years of voluntary service and support for MOP.

Marlow Opportunity Playgroup is a specialist playgroup for children under 5 years of age with complex and profound needs. We provide a unique service to the South Bucks/Northeast Berks area.

Alison has volunteered working with the children and served on the management committee of Marlow Opportunity Playgroup for very many years. She has a real fondness for our charity and holds it very dear to her heart, having seen it grow and flourish over time with us. Alison loves all children and the children who attend our playgroup are particularly special to her. She has become very attached to many of our children over the years and loves to hear of their progress. When Marlow Opportunity Playgroup became an independent charity in 2005, Alison volunteered to serve on the management committee as secretary and was amazingly efficient in this role for 13 years. Although Alison has recently retired from her volunteering duties with the playgroup, she continues to support us through fundraising events and will often pop in to see the children and staff. We hope we shall continue to see her in the setting regularly.

Alison is a wonderful, warm and characterful lady who is very deserving of the British Empire Medal.
