Welcome to Marlow Opportunity Playgroup

Marlow Opportunity Playgroup was set up as an independent charity in April 2005.  Previous to this the Playgroup had been in operation as part of the British Red Cross for over 30 years.

The Playgroup is primarily for children up to the age of 5 with special needs, although we do also take siblings and children from families in crisis.  We are Ofsted registered and at our last Ofsted inspection in July 2009 we received an overall rating of 'good' with half of the areas rating 'outstanding'.  We are in receipt of Government Early Years funding for 3 and 4 your olds and are also part of the Government 2year old Early Learning Pilot.  The Playgroup is registered to take up to 24 children per session, however we limit ourselves to a maximum of 18 to maintain our high standards of provision.

The Playgroup is managed by a voluntary management committee who fulfil roles such as treasurer, fundraising, publicity and health and safety.

The Playgroup needs to raise substantial funds annually in order to offer the high staff ratio.  This is achieved by many fundraising events and applying to many trusts and grant bodies.  We are grateful for any assistance in this area.
